Baby News
It's a Girl! We have a short(ish) chubby girl to add to our family. 5/22/11
I know you are wanting a picture but I didnt bring my camera with me. Oops. Try back Wednesday.
Lanaya Jane was born Sunday at 2:30pm. Mom and baby are great! Everything went perfectly.
If you would like the story, short version (maybe), it goes something like this...ahem... Dinae began feeling contractions Saturday morning. It seemed like I was the one doing the "nesting" this day. Not necessarily pain but tightening muscles. I would ask here to keep track of how often because I was the one that was going to be driving the canyon to get to the doctor 1 1/2 hrs away. I didnt want to deliver the baby. So about 1:00pm Dinae said "I think we should go". Contractions were 8 min apart. Driving over in the canyon they were 5 min apart. We were excited! The day has arrived. Once we were at the hospital it turns out they went away (kind of) they were random and about 10+ min. Huh! So, she went walking and I continued to watch the kids until mom got back from the state track meet. After an hour of walking there was no change. Hense, she was not in "active" labor. Darn! I mean we get all excited and feel all prepared then say its a false alarm. We than had two choices. Wait it out or get induced. We waited it out longer because Dinae wanted to go as natural as possible. We stayed at mom and dads in Roosevelt, got up at 4:00 am and went to have the baby. There was still no change...oh she is a 4 at this point. Water was broken at 10:30 am, at 12:30 she was 5 1/2 and was given a small amount of PIT and 1:30 she was a 10 but the cervix was not in the correct possition. From 1:30 to 2:30 was the hardest time for both of us. She was in pain with each contraction and I really had to contain myself and not cry. This labor was the most different for me. Our other kids she received an epidural both times. The doctor and nurses were so amazed about how much composure she had. she really only had serious pain after 10 and pushing (she told me that, I am not just saying). The baby came at 2:30 pm after three big pushes (and me beating the drums - jk) It seemed to fast. Although, I knew that was not easy! Amazing! Everyone is amazed at how well she handels the contractions with little pain. So am I. You go hun!
After all said and done she claims she can go natural again with no Epidural. She did say that she would like to get started earlier and is not shy about using pitocin for some help. Isnt my wife awesome!
Once we decided that the name fit here the hardest part after was trying to decide on how to spell it. Lanaya weighed 8lbs 12oz after she pooped 4 times during her clean up. She is a whole 19 1/2 inches long.
I'm glad it's over so I dont have to worry about driving 1 1/2 hrs through the canyon to get the the hospital.

No news!
I'm sure some of you are checking our blog daily to see if anything new has happened with baby. But.....nothing has. We have decided not to be induced and let labor start on its own. That is what I've wanted all along but it is so hard to think that I could be pregnant for 2 more weeks. I was going to stay in Roosevelt until the baby came but we were so bored and just sitting around. I felt like a time bomb. So we are all home now, living our lives as normally as possible until this little baby decides to come. We'll update as soon as we can.

The Newest Addition To Our Family Has Arrived!
The has been a welcome treat! A 2007 Toyota Sienna 54,000 miles. We love the double automatic sliding doors and the DVD player. Kaylee's words for a long time were "I can see, I can see" and "I like this van". Spencer of course loves that it is blue. We are excited and are looking forward to the day when it is paid off. By the way, we hate car shopping. I'm sure buying a car wouldnt be so bad if we were made of money.
If you were expecting a baby picture you will probably see one in a couple weeks. Sorry for the little title tease.
