November

The kids really love to play cards.  We took this picture because Lanaya is such a big girl....at least she wants to be.  It's so cute.
Kaylee did so well to sit on Santa's lap.
 Lanaya not so much.
During Thanksgiving my siblings made a hilarious video.  This is there costuming.  So funny!
This is the only picture we got at Thanksgiving.  I love my mom in the back.
We played so hard over Thanksgiving weekend that Lanaya got trampled over.  She wouldn't walk on her foot for 3 days.  I took her to get it x-rayed and thankfully nothing is broken.
She is getting around just fine and only has a limp now.

My last project for the year.

I've been itching to get our kitchen cabinets done.  So after a little advise, I took all the doors off.   So......now 4 weeks later they are finished.  I'll post the awesome finished pictures after the backsplash gets completed.  Hopefully before Christmas.

Kaylee's Birthday

Sweet Kaylee is 5!  I can't really believe it.  I really wanted to make her birthday special because she has been SO SO SO SO excited.  I wasn't planning on making a cake like last year.  I'm all caked out right now and have had no enthusiasm for a party either.  But luckily we were able to talk her into a pancake dinner.  It was super cute and I was able to use last years decorations.

We discovered a new family favorite recipe.  It is CAKE BATTER pancakes.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup Betty Crocker Supermoist yellow cake mix
  • 1 Tablespoon sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1-2 cups milk
  • assorted sprinkles
  • For the Glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • assorted sprinkles
  • 2 Tablespoons butter, softened

Directions

  1. 1
Combine flour, cake mix, baking powder, sugar and salt in a bowl and mix.
  2. 2
Add 1 cup of milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth. Add additional milk until batter has the consistency of pancake batter. You can also add more cake mix if you want your pancakes to have a stronger cake batter flavor.
  3. 3
Preheat a skillet to low to medium heat. Fold desired amount of sprinkles into batter. Pour batter in 1/4 cup measurements onto skillet and let cook until bubbles form on top, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook for 1 minute more.

Kaylee is so sweet.  She gives the most sincere tender hugs.  She was pleased to tell me that she could sit at the table and have her legs actually touch the ground.  She is a wonderful big sister and tries so hard to please her parents.  We love you little 5 year old.

Layana is a toddler now!

She has just recently had a hair cut and it has made the difference of a rug rat to a cute little girl.
We often find her on top of the table.
She loves to have people open their mouths to see if there is food in there.  It's especially funny at church after the sacrament.
The computer is definitely her favorite spot.  I haven't found a way to child proof it.
 She has so much personality.

She makes us laugh everyday.

Fall Projects

Lanaya and cousin Saryn.  They are going to be such good friends.
This was a quick spur of the moment Halloween craft I did with my sisters.

Ryan made a huge pile of leaves in front of his house just for the kids.  They loved it.

Carving pumpkins this year was extra fun.  Spencer was so excited to have a scary dragon face.
I really can't believe I'm posting this but hey, it is a memory.  It's not everyday I can get Adam to dress up.  We are Sandy and Danny for 'Grease".  He also went to a really fun Celebrity Halloween Party.
Doesn't this look sick.  I had a hard time eating it.

 Our little ghost!
 Cute little fairy!

Our Brave Knight!  It is funny that he wanted to be this because he didn't know what a knight was until we saw this costume at the dollar store.  When I told him that knights ride horses he just had to be a knight.  He also loved the battle ax he got to carry around.

Trick or Treating was fun this year.  It happen to good enough weather that Kaylee even wore flip flops.  After about 1/2 hour the kids were saying that they need a bigger bucket.
